Assignment #3... 

...was to draft research topics, problem statements, and purpose statements.

This assignment was meant to jumpstart our creative thinking, but more importantly, our analytical thinking. By understanding what it is we need to research and what questions to ask, we can streamline our first step in choosing a project.  

When it came down to choosing my three projects, I had one main criteria in mind: I wanted to help people.

Three Projects stood out to me: Golden Oras, Bay Area Creative, and the SAFE Place.

Golden Oras

Golden Oras is a new organization of Bay Area creatives who wish to build up their local communities by establishing a series of free

Bay Area Creative

This org specializes in community outreach by helping youth specifically in creative writing, spoken work, and deepening their understanding of their culture and thereby empowering them and fostering positivity.

The SAFE Place

This project was proposed by the office of the Dean of Students. The project is to redesign a room that has since been unused for years. The proposal is to revamp the room and redesign experience to provide a safe, confidential, and comforting space for sexual assault survivors.

Assignment #4... 

...necessitated the need to further research our projects and to display what we learned in a pitch deck. This gives us the opportunity to understand how best to convey our projects and proposals in a professional setting.

The process of gathering information and subsequently creating a pitch deck was a strenuous yet necessary exercise in fully understanding the projects that we are proposing to take on. Below are some images of the process.
